Sizing Charts
The sizes for our maternity wear are usually the same as non-maternity clothing - so if you were a size 12 pre-pregnancy, look for maternity clothes labeled size 12 or MED. If you feel you have stacked on the weight other than just “baby fat” maybe consider the next size up, but keep in mind 99% of all exchanges are due to ladies unnecessarily going up a size because of what they think will happen to their body. For mums having multiples, its best to go up a size.
All of the sizing is as per the Australian clothing manufacturers recommendations. If you are an interstate buyer an email enquiry to sales@mumandbump.com.au may assist with size selection.

Cup selection Tips:
We have found women develop differently throughout pregnancy, but as a general rule of thumb, in the first trimester women will go up a full cup size and then settle in bust size until their milk comes in once bub is born. At this stage women may go up another ˝ to full cup size and there will be fluctuation throughout the breastfeeding stage in keeping with increased milk supply to cater for growth spurts in the baby. Do not accept the above as gospel as everyone is different and we have had many customers who do not develop like this, we are only stating what happens in the slight majority of customers. We recommend that if the underwire in your current bra is becoming uncomfortable then at that point consider a soft cup maternity/nursing bra – there is a belief that underwire may inhibit the development of the milk ducts during pregnancy – but it is entirely up to you whether or not you consider the same to be true.
Underbust Size Selection Tips:
HOTmilk, CAKE and Womama bras all have 6 rows of closure hooks at the back. The extension of the normal 3 rows to 6 rows is common in maternity bras so as to accommodate for the ribcage expansion during the babies development. Expect to start on the tightest hook closures at the start of the pregnancy, and work your way out to the last closures at full term, only to come back in again whilst you are feeding bub. Generally you keep the same underbust measurement pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy and post-pregnancy – although again, everyone is different.
