“Mum & Bump” commenced trade in January 2006.  At the time there were no specialised maternity wear stores open in Bendigo.  Retailing maternity wear was also seen as a great opportunity to bring nursing wear (specially designed tops to enable discrete breastfeeding) to the lactating mums of Bendigo!

Our business has evolved over the years and is now made up of 4 main areas:

4                    Boutique in the Bendigo CBD

The “Mobile Shops” probably require some explanation.  We recognise that online shopping can be very convenient for small town mums, but it is also nice to be given the opportunity to physically see and try garments before purchasing, (quite often our customers are from areas where there is no, or limited, maternity wear).   So as a support to our online customers we regularly travel to towns in country Victoria.   Our mobile shop setup includes the hire of a spacious function area, custom made change rooms and the display of 750 plus garments.

As a fulltime stay at home mother of two, “Mum & Bump” has almost been like a further baby.  I am often asked if the business is a franchise, and I have to tell you that no it is not, I gave birth to this little baby, have nurtured and helped it grow, and now I am enjoying its first steps as an independent little being.
